1 LEO DUPLEIX

Solo harpsichord

Born in Paris (1988). Graduated from Brussels Royal Conservatory (master degree in piano Jazz), lived in Japan for a year.Since his relocation to Paris in 2016 he has retained a strong interest in improvisation while developing a corpus of composition that utilizes slowly unfurling melodies cast through the prism of just intonation and pure relationships of tones.A lot of care is given to the instrument’s specificities and physicality. The forms are long, in order to dig into sound itself, while the compositions leave space for improvisation. There is also a fascination with the phenomenon of sound, and its attributes (noise, tone, beating, consonance, and silence), and a strong interest in European and far eastern music from the middle ages. All this characterizes a rather complex and peculiar musical world, as well as a search for clarity and simplicity of expression.

2 IFS

Juliette Adam (clarinet), Quentin Conrate (amplified drums), Lucien Rapilly (Pure Data/ electronics)

IFS are multiple and interacting sound sources. Some electronic, others acoustic coming from instruments and various resonant objects which pass (or not) by contact microphones. They are wrapped up in a hybrid sound material.
Through the resonance of various objects (directly by the sound of instruments or through loudspeakers), and the capture of this resonance by contact microphones, a hybrid sound material is born, in the form of a ridge between the worlds of acoustics and electronics.

3 MELCOR

MELCOR is the sound project of Augustin Soulard, a musician evolving in sound arts and experimental music. Based on his practice of the modular synthesizer, he composes, improvises, and produces other musicians’ works. Engaged in phenomenological and perceptive research, his work has been presented in the form of installations and performances. His first record, “Îl!es”, is the result of an encounter between the aesthetic line of Le Cabanon and his own research. It is a project linked to an ambivalence between forms and movements, focused on electronic music, a “given being” attached to the genesis of bodies as well as to their destruction.
