1 BENEDICTE DAVIN & CHARO CALVO

ACTES DE PAROLE n°1

Bénédicte Davin in performance and musicalized concerts, Charo Calvo in electro-acoustic composition for various media and a background as a dancer, take up the letters and text messages of women of different ages, origins and backgrounds. Bénédicte’s body and voice and Charo’s sounds and music create a membrane between these women’s voices and their own: a polyphony of a past and contemporary world that gives the body a sense of the sound and letter from which anything can arise. In Bénédicte’s practice, the performativity of her body lies at the meeting point of composition, vocal matter and the proliferation of phonemes, real musical escapes, freed from any nominative requirement, where even breath can appear as a sign. In Charo’s practice, we find the materials of concrete, natural sounds sublimated by electroacoustic treatments and, as with Bénédicte, freed from any nominative demands.
